What has it been like for you?
Congrats, Good Deal! But why did they have a 2021 sitting around? I can’t believe that a 2021 car was sitting unsold in this market.I went shopping for a white Advanced or Prestige GV70. Not one to be had at the 4 dealers I went to and not one to be even test driven. There were some coming in, but I would have to leave a $1000 non refundable deposit to claim it. If the car was three months late coming in, I still would lose my deposit. so that and the fact that I never even drove or drove in one, nixed that deal. At the last dealership I was at, They had a black 2021 GV80 Prestige with 280 miles on it they just decided to put on the sales floor. Not Shure what they were doing with it.
I liked it, but it was at least $15,000 more than the GV70. We talked price, but they were off on my trade and I was not going to pay sticker for a new, but year old car.
As I was leaving, the salesman came out and offered me $3000 under sticker and none of that add on crap and offered me another $3000 for my trade.
So I took it.
That kind of worried me too. They told me the dealership owner had it off location somewhere. Did they forget they had it? Was it damaged and it took them 8 months to get parts? I had a friend look at it who did body work in a past life and he could not find any evidence of any repairs or painting. The car still had a lot of that plastic protective stuff that the set up guy missed, and it smelled new. I was going to do a Carfax on it, as I thought it would cost 20 bucks, they they want 60 or 70 bucks for one report. It only had 280 miles so it did not go anywhere except for maybe test drives. Some day I will get to the bottom of it. So far, the car has driven flawlessly. but I only have 1200 miles on it. Maybe I don't want to know.Congrats, Good Deal! We needed something "now" (wifes 279,000 odyssey needed another cash infusion and it was time to stop.
Local Genesis dealer got a couple in during the 2 months we were looking, but all pre-sold so no demo. Finally a dealer 120 miles away got 2 80's that weren't pre-sold. Drove down the next day and paid sticker plus 1,000 for their mats, floor liners and sill covers. Was happy to find one but pretty bummed that its my LAST color choice (grey). Blahhhh
Easy one. Boss's wife (or gf) LOVED the car. But has 3 others and never drove it. Seen it.That kind of worried me too. They told me the dealership owner had it off location somewhere. Hi, I have bought many cars via the internet, and search nationally. I agree, and go way beyond my borders for a good car.How far are you willing to travel? Let your fingers do the walking, and then a few phone calls. Airfare, lodging, &/or gas is still cheaper than 'market adjustment' prices.
You just may find the car you want and a respectable price, and, best of all, you'll enjoy the ride home! (However, some have shipped their car home)
