Hello,

I've had a 2022 GV80 since January 2022. On three occasions, I have experienced a loss of motive power. When I took it to the dealership, they were able to verify and replicate the issue, but the technician was not able to get a trouble code or repair code. Thus, the dealership was not able to repair the vehicle, because they said they could not identify the cause. The service advisor said they had three other GV80 vehicles specifically that had the same complaint.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Yes,
I have a 2022 GV80 which starting hesitating on acceleration. Then it quit completely and was going to tow it. After 15 minutes it finally started. I took it directly to the dealer an it quit right there. They have had it for sometime and still have not heard from them. Unless they confirm problem I am concerned making a left hand turn into traffic.

I did not see it in your post, but I think your loss of power was temporary, correct? Perhaps on restarting the engine motive power is restored. Is this correct?

What were the conditions that triggered the "loss of motive power".
Were you
-in traffic
-making a turn (left or right)
What are your Lane Safety settings (Active assist, Warning, or off)
What was your forward Safety (Active assist, Warning, or OFF)

I have experienced loss of power when all the safety features are on Active Assist. Happens to me with the cruise control and multilane expressway. (Happens with a few minutes of having cars around me)
Also happens on Left turns when the pavement is uneven, or has a dip or uphill.

Owned a GV80 for about 5 months. In the last month I owned it, it cut off while driving a total of six times. The first couple of times I quickly turned the knob to neutral, hit the ignition button, then turned it back to Drive. That got it back up and running. The last four time though got progressively worse. Twice it cut off for 3-5 minutes and I had to sit there in traffic hoping it would eventually start back up. The fifth time was a little longer…may 8 minutes that it cut off. The last time…20 minutes. Luckily got myself and my son to the side of the road. Called a towing company, but the car started back up after 20 minutes and I was able to go home. Took several days to get Genesis to tow it to the dealership. The dealership had it over a week…told me they “couldn’t duplicate” the problem, and gave me back the keys. Basically just said “good luck” to me. They wouldn’t fix the car. Wouldn’t replace the car. Told me to call manufacturing. After a couple months, manufacturing told me that I’d have to call the dealership. The dealership is now (as of last week) telling me there’s nothing they can do. As of this afternoon…I have a lawyer who will contact them. Funny thing is…I’m still a genesis guy…always have been. I still want to drive a G90 someday. But it appears that this whole thing will have to be resolved between the local dealer and my attorney.

I'm not a mechanic, but certainly sounds like you've got a lemon. Maybe your state laws can provide relief to allow you to return the car? Just guessing. Perhaps a fuel problem, either the source (bad fuel) or delivery (fuel pump), or maybe a bad sensor somewhere that is triggered by heat (since your car starts after cool-down) but your dealer should have been able to diagnose that. Sorry to learn of your problems. For what it's worth, I've had my 2021 GV80 3.5 for 2 years and have had no engine issues to speak of.
