I'm seriously considering changing over from my MME to the GV60. I like the luxury of the Genesis and plainly I like the charging curve on it. I saw the real world 70 MPH loop from Kyle at out of spec exceeded the EPA mileage by about 4 miles (239.x) which I think at highway speeds is great.

Has anyone owned or own both of these vehicles and care to share your thoughts? Greatly appreciated any info.

Cheers

I traded in my MME for a GV60 Performance a little over a month ago. As others have mentioned the car is amazing, the interior is truly luxurious and it drives great. The performance is definitely much quicker than the MME. Overall I am very happy I made the switch and love the extra features (like cooling seats) that were missing on the MME. I enjoyed the MME but never warmed up to the bumpy ride and the whole HVJB recall really spooked me as I don’t think the software fix is really a fix. And finally the charging spe of the GV60 is crazy fast.

A couple of things Ford does better as of now. The Ford Pass app has more features (yes that’s right) and Ford seems to be getting their OTA act together lately.

Any other questions I will try to answer.

@smartino the software recall doesn’t fix anything other than not bricking the car until you can get it somewhere. The issue is a hardware issue and that’s why post 5-22-2022 the MME’s have a revised part. I think it was a bad decision not to recall the cars and only replace after failure.

This issue is 100% the reason I started researching other options. I do like the GV60 better initially for similar reasons that you posted. The fast charging speeds are great and not 5 second power limit (I had a GTPE). I could’ve looked past this but, as mentioned, the hardware issue made it untenable. I couldn’t have my wife traveling from NJ to MD visiting family and bricking on I95 after fast charging.

So I feel like I ended up with an upgrade and didn’t lose any money on the deal so that’s good too.

I didn’t like the Ford pass app but it is way better than Genesis app. They all need to look at Tesla’s app.

cheers.

Totally agree with all your comments. That recall was the final straw for me too as we go on lots of road trips. I had a Model Y before the MME and that app is fantastic.

I had deposits down on a Lucid Air Pure and Cadillac Lyriq. My Cadillac dealership told me that there was a long waiting list, they had never seen one and couldn't tell me where I was on the list. For the Lucid Air, I got tired of not getting specifications on the Pure. I could wait for the car but I didn't want to wait another year and then find out that they had decontented it to a level I never want one.

I was just checking around and built a GV60 on the Genesis web site and lo and behold, one showed up in Arizona (I believe it may be the only one). I called and arranged for a test drive. I liked the luxury and performance and bought it on the spot. So far I am actually loving it. It has just about everything that the Lucid would have had and many that the Lucid doesn't (like easy entry/exit).

It is much smaller than the Lucid but I like a smaller car. So that is a positive for me. But I did have to see if it passed my most important test and it did: my golf clubs did fit in the back without having to put the second row seat down.

That was my most important test too. I live in Indiana and bought mine in CT. The salesman actually took a picture with golf clubs in the back as he knew how important that was for me. I can fit both my clubs and the push cart without putting the rear seats down.

There car is really well done. Futuristic, good looks (yeah I now subjective) great ride, good infotainment (with physical buttons for my wife), decent range and great charging curve. We're quite happy nearly 2 months later with all aspects of the car. We recently took a ~500 mile round trip and really appreciated the fast charging curve. I would say the biggest flaw is the lack of charging AI in the built in navigation.
