I bought a GV80 two weeks ago in white, prestige trim. Although I had to wait months to get it delivered and the buying process from the Hyundai dealership was terrible (can’t wait for Genesis to have stand alone dealerships in the NYC area), I absolutely love the car.

The car feels like I’m driving a $100k car vs a $78k car (including tax). All of the features and trim are top notch. The 3.5 engine is rewarding and fun to drive (esp in sport mode), the navigation and climate controls are intuitive and high tech. I make excuses to run errands and drive this car - it really is such a luxurious car.

I often times get stopped at lights or in the parking lots with people asking questions about the GV80 and complimenting how it looks - literally all of the time.
The sound system rocks and the 22” wheels make this car look amazing. The interior ambient lights are a nice touch, and the quality of the controls and finish are truly top notch

I don’t really have many issues at this point but if forced, I’d say the number of beeps and notifications were a bit much - but you can change the set up which resolved this for the most part.
The lack of spare tire is surprising and the fact that it didn’t come standard with wheel locks are annoying.
I wish they had a rear entertainment option for kids.
I really think that the buying experience needs to improve with more genesis dealers and not having to go through Hyundai dealerships and salespeople - they are not trained appropriately and didn’t know any of the genesis specific information or services provided - really disappointing spending this much money and the process was very unprofessional (literally had to go to the dealership 3 times to finalize purchase since they kept on forgetting a process or wasn’t aware of financing specifics etc.)

overall I am happy with the car, ride and quality. I’m looking forward to more accessories being available as well. Highly recommend.

Hey @GeeVee! Congrats on your new GV80! What color interior did you get to match the white? Also how do you find the ride quality?
I got the black interior with the white paint. The drive is really fantastic. I heard some reviews that the ride was too soft but that’s not my experience. There is plenty of pick up (some lag for the turbo) and smooth.

Thanks for the write-up. I'm super interested in a 3.5 Prestige, just worried about the dealership/service experience. Mind sharing which dealership you went to? I'm currently test driving with Genesis of North Plainfield in Jersey but my office is in Midtown.
I was not in NJ or in Manhattan so I think your safe from at least this dealership.

Welcome and congrats @GeeVee!
What other vehicles were you considering before deciding on the GV80? Any improvements you think Genesis should make in future model years?
I had an mdx which is liked but was ready for a more luxurious ride. I was pretty close to buying an X5m50 as the dealer was clearing out 2020 models. I also really liked the Audi Q8 and drove great but was just too small - felt like the interior closer to a car than an SUV. I previously had a Q7 before the mdx so didn’t want that again. I looked at the mb gle but was way too expensive for the options I wanted.

In the end, I felt that the genesis was the best car. And I like the fact that it’s a new car and unique. Everywhere I turn I see bmw Audi and benz.

Enjoyed reading your posts, and with apologies if I'm wrong, but these read like a fake corporate marketing review, not a true new owner. Again, sorry if incorrect but just my observations.
LOL no I’m def an owner and not sure how to prove it. But I’m not sure a corporate marketer would say that the buying experience is ****.

This is the first time I’ve joined forums like this and only found this one when I was researching for the gv80.

I agree on both fronts the Prestige GV80 is an all around awesome car. That being said I was treated like I was buying a bargain basement Hyundai not a $72,000+ luxury crossover...
I got sent a survey after I purchased the car and filled out candid responses and feedback. I then got a call from the dealer acknowledging the feedback (they got it sent to them from corporate I guess). I am still having issues with them as they haven’t returned a phone call and haven’t sent me what they promised they would (materials for the maintenance coverage). I don’t want to name the dealership since I have sympathy that the internet can be a crazy, unforgiving place. But they really really need to have genesis branded dealerships.

Just picked ours up a couple of days. Alta white with Dune interior. Drove 180 miles to grab it off the truck. Prestige. I put the dealer under pressure, they stayed after closing for us to pick it up and I didn't give them much time to prep it. They really wanted to spend time going through the features, but I nixed that - so they were doing their job and doing their best to give outstanding service.

Great experience with them. Yes, they are not a "lexus" style showroom or experience, but I really didn't care much about that. The car did not disappoint.

Dealership never received the RFID card with the car (they will mail it to me). Where did you find yours or was it handed to you?
I got
What is the RFID Card? I never received it since I don't know what it is.
yeah I never heard of a rfid coming with a car. Any more detail on what this is and what it does?
