Had same thing happen this week on a trip. Only solution was to reset the head unit and re-activate services. Also lost all traffic info which came back after a few hours.
I will do this. Thanks. I think this situation happened after I got a message that my system was upgraded. I didn't think Genesis does auto upgrading. I wonder if I was hacked.Had same thing happen this week on a trip. Only solution was to reset the head unit and re-activate services. Also lost all traffic info which came back after a few hours.
Well, in my case, I had to get a USB from Genesis and update the Nav system (recommended by dealer). Prior to that, they suggested I reboot the infotainment system by holding in the 2 buttons on each side (Map and Settings as I recall without looking) and that would correct it for a while. I still have the problem though it has become exceedingly rare, and my dealer says Genesis recognizes this and is working on a solution. Good luck and let us know how it goes.I just ran into a GPS issue that is new. I tried to put in a destination into the Map and I got the following message: "Services are unavailable in this area. Please try again in an area with a stronger network signal." I have done this at home many times and never got this response. I went into the GPS reception status display of Map and it shows many available satellite signals at my home's location. I even drove to a number of different areas and I get the same response. Does anyone know what's going on?
Awesome! Glad that worked out for you. It's a minor inconvenience keeping in mind this is the first gen GV70 - though I hope Genesis addresses soon!I just did the reset dance and it is now working correctly. Thanks to all for their advice.
Agree with the suggested action above. Just completed my first long distance trip from Tampa to Philly. Ran into the lost connectivity issue once (in southern eastern shore of VA). Attributed the issue to limited connectivity. Haven't seen the system regain signal once lost and have used the MAP + SETUIP buttons with success.I've also run into this several times since purchasing my GV70.. seems the modem looses connectivity from time to time, which kills any services requiring a data connection.
To fix - I hold the MAP + SETUP buttons until the system resets. This seems to fix the issue (until it happens again).
I was told new navy update will be out 5/17.I recently took my GV80 in for service and asked if they could update the Nav system with the November (?) update - the service manager told me that there was an update scheduled for May, so I decided to wait. Would anyone happen to know if there is a scheduled update from Genesis in May? Thanks in advance -
It's out now.I was told new navy update will be out 5/17.
Not finding much new with this update. Seems its focused on finding EV stations. Nothing seems to break thoIt's out now.
I did a mapNsoft navigation update and had the same problem. Try this to reboot your system. Hold down map and setup button at the same time until the screen goes black (about 5 seconds) then let go and give it a minute to reconnect... that will probably fix the problem... if not contact Dealer.I just ran into a GPS issue that is new.
