A software update was released on May 4th, but I have been unable to login to the Navigation Updater app for the past few days. Just checking to see if others are getting this or if it is just me and something I need to troubleshoot? When I login i just get "A system error has occurred".

You get the update from the My genesis web page. Log into your account and look for map updates. (Assuming you are subscribing to the updates) There is an installer you will need to download and then run that program. Currently some people are having issues with logging into the updater program itself, so just log in as a guest if you have an issue. You will download the update to a usb pen drive, but read the specs for the pen drive you need to use. And then plug it into your cars usb data port and follow the instructions.
Thanks, i had no idea. That sounds like I should be an Genesis employee at that point. God forbid they do it over the air. I'll check it out and see what I can do. Cheers!

Your problem may not be the update to the nav data base. It sounds more like a problem with you car’s modem. Before loading the we nav database, start the engine and remain in park, simultaneously push and hold the Map and Setup buttons until the display goes black. This will reset the control head (and modem). It takes a minute to get the display back and a few minutes more to get back on line with the Connected Services. It should be all automatic. After everything is reset, try getting directions to your destination and see if it loads. To load the new data base, see the responses above. Good luck.

Thanks, I will try that first!

Same here. Genesis's problem--not yours. Just log in as a Guest, and all works well!
OK, so what's the navigation updated app and where do I get it? The issue I'm having is that the nav more often than not errors out when I put in a new destination. Previous ones and saved ones are no problem, and the system seems to know exactly where I am in the world. It's just that when you try to go somewhere new, it says something about the service not being available or there being an error (I forget the wording). Dealer said they couldn't update the nav at my last service a couple weeks ago because the drive they had the update on broke. Yes, seriously. Any advice?

I had a similar issue with my Nav. system a month ago, I called Genesis Customer Care and they told me to go into my vehicle, start it, then hit settings, select Map, then press the Map and Settings button at the same time until you see a screen rebooting Google Maps. It worked for me. They told me Google Maps sometimes goes to sleep?
My system loses connectivity to the connected services a few times a week, if not daily. I know when it is when I can't use any remote features (car locator, remote start, system status). I then have to go to the car, reset the infotainment system as everyone has explained here, and then it reconnects without a problem. How long it will be connected for, that's anyone's guess.

This also makes the remote app features useless to me as I cannot trust that I can unlock/lock the doors using the app since if the car loses the connection I am an SOL and can't get into the car to reset it.

They told me the update would address this, but being in the IT and Software field for 30 years has me calling BS on this. They are going with the reboot and see if it fixes it. The oldest tech support fix known to man.
