My issue with the Mach-E GTPE is the inherent flaw in the battery package related to the high voltage battery junction box. Ford won't recall and the car is a brick waiting to happen. I have a couple of friends with Genesis vehicles who are having a good experience. Buying an electric car by default is an exercise in being a beta tester.
On the VW front. I've had two V10TDI Touaregs over the years. They were my favorites, and talk about something difficult to service.
The v10 cars are legendary. I bought off lease car and the dealer overfilled it with oil by 1/2 quart. For the next year + the car never ran for more than 2 days as it would leak oil into the exhaust and trigger fuel/air sensors to cat failure warnings and put the car into limp mode where it would barely run.
5 different dealers, 3 up to 2 hrs away tried to fix it endlessly. Including one where they flew a regional head wrench in to look at it. Replaced coils and injectors time after time. (like 5 or 6 times) Thousands and thousands of dollars each time. Replaced cats several times at 3k? each. Each time I would get it back running like a champ on the way home and then the next day it would fail again. Local dealer didn't have anyone trained and they were scared of the battery. Call VW Corp and ask where to take it to get someone that knew the car and they said "all VW dealers are authorized hybrid service centers"..... yeh, right....
Put less than 1,000 miles on it in a year. (had 18k miles when I bought it, 1,000 too many miles for lemon law in our state). 330hp supercharged Audi 3.0 with a 60hp E boost battery. Thing scooted! LOW oil sensor (no dipstick) but no OVERFILLED sensor (doh).
Got a dipstick from Audi.....
Zero issues for the next 3 years....... LOL
