Noise level Advanced vs Prestige

I haven't driven the Prestige level, as there are none in my area. Has anyone driven both the Advanced and Prestige? Does the active noise cancellation make a difference in hearing engine and road noise? Two salesmen have said "no" to that question, but that may be because they don't have the Prestige to sell:)

I can only say that my Prestige Package is very quiet. I can't compare to other models though. That being said it's to be expected for a salesperson to push what he has available to sell. I would bet if he/she had some Prestige models to sell they would be saying there's a difference between the two models and would suggest taking it for a test drive.
Thanks, AJB. I may have to wait awhile, as there are none in my area. But maybe it's worth waiting. The Advanced is quiet, but the engine sounds loud to me. I realize that it's the turbo, but I really like quiet!

I hear you! No pun intended 😉!
On the Prestige Package there's an adjustment that allows for more or less exhaust sound based on your personal preference. There's Off, Low, Medium and High exhaust sound settings. My question is does the Advanced Package have the same feature? If it does do you know what it was set to on your test car?
I keep mine set at "Off". Like you I love the quiet of the interior.
Road Active Noise Cancellation on the Prestige is designed mostly around reducing tire noise as it only works to cancel out sounds 500hz and below. It's not quite the same as full active noise cancellation that works on a wider frequency range.

Their video gives an explanation and A/B comparison to what difference in sound it makes. It's not a dramatic difference, but it reduces the rumble some.

Thanks for the video, I'll check it out.

Were you driving a 2.5 or 3.5?

I have the 3.5 engine. Which engine was in your test car??

I never tested mine...I got the 2.5......I have the prestige package....When I first start it, the engine sounds pretty loud.....It quiets down as it warms up.....If I have no music on, I can hear a faint noise when I accelerate or climb....With radio on, I don't hear it.... i've adjusted the engine sound to off, but I still hear it.....Its the first vehicle I've driven- other than the Alfa Stelvio which had very noticeable engine noise- and probably the only thing that dissappoints me about it.

In addition to the "Engine Sound" adjustment there's also an adjustment for the "Noise Cancellation" system. Do you know what level yours is adjusted to?

The noise cancellation setting is to reduce noise in radio broadcast signals.

It’s radio noise control, “Selects the radio noise control option for better sound” in the fat navigation manual.

Road active noise cancellation isn’t configurable.

I test drove an Advanced and Prestige back to back. You can’t tell the difference between the two noise wise. I bought an Adv as I found the color combo I wanted. The dealer discounted $4k and that sealed the deal as now it was a $11k spread to the Prestige.

Three decibel improvement. Not a huge difference. Does best at reducing wheel and tire noise.

I initially bought the GV80 Advanced package. I traded in for the Prestige package after driving around 500 miles because I could not stand the rumble noise of the Advanced package. IMO, the RANC in the prestige is worth every penny. It reduces a lot of rumble noise caused by road and tires. You may not tell the difference in term of noise when driving under 40mph. But above 60mph, the Prestige is much quieter than the Advanced especially road noise.

The GV80 I test drove was a Prestige Package and the one I purchased is a Prestige Package as well so I didn't realize there was that much of a difference in noise suppression between the two versions. Glad I got the Prestige version.
