I’ve done a couple of searches and cannot find specific, step by step instructions on how to change the oil filter. One post recommended removing the air intake tubes but looking at them I don’t see how they are attached. If anyone has personally gone through the procedure, I would love to chat.
I have been to the two closest Hyundai Dealers and they were both dumps. So please don’t recommend taking the car to the dealer.
Thanks

Apparently, you didn't read mine!
Obviously, you do not know how to do it, so let the pros do it--with the added benefit of FREE!
WHY do you care if it's a dump?
WHY are you going to a Hyundai dealer instead of a Genesis dealer?

there is a video on ytube but not very good instructions. it looks like you can get the filter by the piping. I bought a 27 mi socket and will look into getting the filter element. now had first filter and oil change done by dealer ( not happy with service, long story.) they did however do it over again. have been changing my own oil and filter for 60 plus years, and using Mobil 1 since 1988.
i understand where you a coming from and the free oil change isn't the point but to know that it is done right is. most car dealers have the least experience tech going oil and filter. at age 78 i still am able to do it right the first time.

Thanks JB:
Your post is exactly on point. I reached out to a GV80 member who has performed the oil change in a private communication. His information makes the process more clear. I’ve asked him to share his communication in the general discussion.
He also had some insight into the type of oil the dealers are allowed to use. Even though the vehicle calls for use of Full Synthetic Oil, Hyundai has authorized them to use partially synthetic oils. This should drop the oil change interval from 8000 to 5000. If you have the dealer do the oil change, you may want to question what type of oil they use. Or bring your own for them to use.

remove the engine vanity cover, just pull straight up, has 3 retention points
remove both side engine plastic panels, held in by push pin clips

remove the front center plastic panel above the radiator, held in by push pin clips

remove 2 10mm bolts holding the driver side intake plenum

push to the right on the retention clip holding the intake hose onto the filter housing, the clip can be held in place by dropping it down a notch

press forward on the intake plenum and pull the hose end free from the filter housing
Automotive fuel system Motor vehicle Automotive design Automotive air manifold Gas

this will give you access to the turbo boost tube

you'll see 2 ears on the retaining clip, push them outwards and lock them in place by pulling them towards the tube side

now you can pull the boost tube towards the front of the engine compartment and get it out of the way

this gives you relatively free access to the oil filter canister

reinstallation is just the reverse, no need to try and keep the retention clips locked in the open position, just press firmly back onto the turbo and it'll lock itself back in place

Not many stand-alone Genesis dealers in the US at this point. So you're more than likely dealing with a combination Hyundai/Genesis dealership.
Manual states "...SAE 0W-30 grade synthetic oil can be used. If mineral oil or semi-synthetic oil is used, it is a severe maintenance condition in terms of engine oil change."
The severe maintenance schedule is 5000 miles or 6 months. Dealers are generally putting in semi-synthetic or "synthetic blend" oil during these first 3 years of included maintenance. This allows for up to 2 oil changes a year for 3 years. More service work for them to claim and not really the best for you. I wouldn't be surprised if some techs don't bother to change the filter once they see what is involved in getting to the filter and how little book time they have for the oil change.

Excellent write up Hawk! Forum should have a technical section and this should be a permanent post. Thank you so much. This will definitely decrease my first oil change at 1000 miles

Where are you guys getting the oil filter from? The part# I found is 26330-3LTA0 and would like to confirm accuracy as all I can find is 26320-3LTA0.

I didnt want to start anew thread as I thought it would be useful information to have contained here. Thanks.

26320-3N000 not too difficult to get from a Kia parts online shop

the 3LTA0 goes to the 3.3L, not the same filter as the 3.5L
