From what I read online its that Genesis designed the concept with a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain in mind which is odd considering we're stepping into an era of hybrids and EV's. If Genesis wants to expand aggressively I think it would be better if they stick to powertrains that would be found in other Genesis models. BMW, Mercedes and Audi all do this with success. Already they have plans to introduce PHEV's.

What would you potential owners rather have?

Hands down PHEV simply because of the charging infrastructure that's being developed. Hydrogen fuel cell sounds great with such a short refueling time, but good luck finding a station near you or along your chosen route.

I think the adoption rates of hydrogen based vehicles are still going to remain quite small, as there is still plenty of education to be done around that technology. The Mirai proved that the technology was still a little early, and extremely expensive to manufacture.
