This gets filed under a fairly nit-picking question, but, here goes. The carbon fiber insert on the driver side of the center console on my '23 GV70 Sport Prestige has aluminum trim with some kind of clear plastic covering. The plastic covering was kind of chewed up when the car was delivered, and is looking more chewed up with wear over time. Was this some kind of shipping protection that was not removed on delivery, or is the plastic supposed to be there? The carbon fiber inserts on the front doors do not appear to have a similar plastic covering.

Carbon Fiber? Are you talking about the textured aluminum trim on the center console and doors? The trim comes with a white plastic protective tape on it for shipping, but the tape should be removed by the dealer prior to delivery. It's a beautifully done real aluminum piece. Strip off the plastic tape.
