Uncomfortable Driver's Seat

Just got a new 2022 GV80 3.5T Advanced. Love the car, but having serious issue with the drivers seat being very uncomfortable on the buttocks. The bottom seat cushion feels like there is a bar or something hard under the seat and after a short while (5 min or so) it causes discomfort. I tried adjusting the seat every which way - including the front button that extends under the knees (it also raises or lowers) and I still feel this hard protrusion under the seat cushion. I have the Ergo seat and I wonder if it is the air bladder underneath? I sat in the passenger and rear seats and they do not have this problem, they are very comfortable.

So the dealer said they could not duplicate the seat discomfort issue. I told the service clerk where to put your hands on the seat cushion but I don't think the technician knew where to look or feel. They probably just sat in it and thought it was fine. I then went over to the sales dept where they had a new gv80 with the ergo seat, i went to feel and compare to mine, and it also seemed similar where you can feel the air bladders under the seat cushion. I am thinking this is the normal design and it is not my specific car that has an issue. But I think the seat is breaking in a little, its not as bad as before. however, it could be that I am sitting deeper into the seat since i am using the smart seat posture feature. I just adjust the part under the knee to extend out a little bit more for leg support. otherwise, I am using the smart posture suggested adjustement.
I forgot to mention. My loaner car was a new GV70 3.5T with the ergo seat. For sure, that seat was much more comfortable than the GV80 in my opinion. There seat cushion position was more inverted (seat cushion bowed in, or sunk downward vs the GV80 like a mound bowing upwards into your butt). And it also seemed to have more padding as well. After driving for a duration, I could still start to feel the air bladder under my butt, but it was no where as uncomfortable as the GV80. just FYI
I THINK I have found a little bit of more comfort. If I put my GV80 in sport mode, after a minute or so, the seat bladder seems to deflate more. That is somewhat better! I can then put it back into comfort mode and the seat will remain 'sunken'. Try it,

Yea I read that sport mode will deflate the bladders so you sink into the seat more. But is that lower than if you manually deflated it to the lowest position in comfort mode? I tried to see if it sinks more in sport mode but didn't notice too much of a difference. But let me try it again going form sport to comfort mode. Hope it works! thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks, Ckon, for your reply. Yes, the seat does inflate. I tried to deflate the seat (with the small button), but at the lowest setting you still feel the hard bladder under the seat cushion. I wonder if it is just my seat and the bladder (or whatever it is under the seat cushion) is not retracting fully. I am bringing it to Genesis service to have it checked out.
I have the same problem in a ‘21 GV80 2.5 Prestige. Tried everything. I bought a seat cushion that has helped considerably.
Yes, I used the smart posture seat system and at first i didn't like the position. But i tried it for a while and I am starting to really like it. The seat seems to be more comfortable when using the suggested smart posture. I noticed that the bottom is still a bit hard, but it doesn't hurt as much as before - however, I think maybe I am either breaking it in more, or getting used to it?
minimizing pressure points is part of the whole smart posture thing. Getting you curled up more takes pressure off the tailbone. I didn't like it at first but after a couple of hours in my "normal" seat position my butt was hurting and I tried it and found it much more comfortable for the remaining 1.5 hrs. Fwiw
I bought the 2023 G80 and the driver seat is so bad I want to return the car. I drive multiple hours per day and it is just awful to be in….so dissatisfied

Gotta love a "luxury" car with uncomfortable seats.
Welcome to Genesis.

It thought that blowing them all the way up would be better, but I have found that letting all the air out is softer. I assume you tried all the different positions. But for me, I like the seats, I came from an Audi Q5 with rock hard seats.
Not sure if this has been already posted but the small button that controls the thigh extension also controls the seats firmness. When you push that button forward/back it controls the thigh extension and when you push it up/down it controls the seats firmness. I have it at the lowest setting and it's much better, not perfect but better.

I could not understand why my bottom cushion was so firm compared to other GV80's, mine has 22K miles on her so I know the seat is broken in by now. BGT3 I tried what you wrote about the leg extension firming up the bottom seat, you are correct, most people probably do not know about this feature, Thanks!

2023 GV-80 Prestige. No question that the front seats are extremely uncomfortable, especially for male drivers! It feels as if I'm sitting on a softball that's not soft and like many of you who have posted, I've changed every possible setting on the driver's seat and nothing helps. Now the search begins to find the appropriate seat cushion. Great: $84,000 and the seats in my friend's Subaru Crosstrek are far superior!!! Sad, very sad indeed...
The driver side seat of my 2022 GV80 Advanced + is so uncomfortable that I'm considering trading. There's a ridge the rides between my butt cheeks, & it hits my pressure points when I shift to get comfortable. I'm exhausted after 30 minutes of driving because of it. Otherwise, the car is very attractive & rides wonderfully. Hey Genesis, I traded a BMW X5 for this discomfort! I'm not impressed. I hate driving my $70K car!
The frontmost seat button, pushed downward gets rid of most of the 'bumps". I have a seat cushion I use when I don't want, or need, the seat heater.
Eat more donuts!
That's my problem, I am by no means thin, but I have no ass. I don't know what happened to it, but it is just not there. It is hard to keep my pants up.

Couple of different causes. Most common having a gut leading to a pelvic tilt to balance when standing. Leading to a sublimation of the gluteals to the hamstrings. because the angle is changed from the pelvic tilt you (can) start using your hamstrings to do work that your glutes are meant to do. Muscles not getting worked atrophy and go away. Can't keep pants up and cramps in the hamstrings (range of motion is too extreme) = that be the cause.
Glutes should be the biggest and strongest muscle in your body. Not good when they aren't.
Lots of youtube videos on the subject and activating dormant glutes. Educate. :)

I had the sane issue with the same model. It felt like I was sitting on two bowling balls and got so bad that I got rid of the car at a huge loss and bought a G80.

Don't the G80 & GV80 have the same seats?

Apparently not, because I've had no problems with my current G80 or any of the four previous Genesises (Genesi?) that I've owned. Right after I bought the GV80 I took it on a short drive and barely got of town before my back began killing me. I got rid of it within two weeks after buying it.
