To GV80 owners and those that test driven them, what interesting quirks, features and functions have you discovered so far? Genesis included a lot and sharing our experience here will be a great way speed up the learning curve.

I'll share. After 10 days ownership of my GV80, the most interesting quirk I've discovered is the huge disappointment that SiriusXM Travel Link (weather/fuel prices) is not available. Genesis replaced it with HD Radio Data which is apparently only available in major metro areas. Unable to find much info, but apparently leaves 95% of the country without any service. So to my mind Genesis has inexplicably "bricked" this highly desirable service. Haven't been able to find an Android Auto work around. Can anyone shed light on this change? Can we lobby to get it back?

Very interesting.

So what's the BEST thing you've discovered?

I recommend reaching out to Genesis Customer Care at 1-866-999-9895 from Monday – Friday / 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (eastern time). Voicing your concern through them might help. Haven't tried with Android Auto yet but I heard there's a weather widget that can be enabled.
Have you tried the voice commands?

That's really weird because Hyundai Motor America and therefore Genesis should still have its agreement with SiriusXM in place.

I still have a lot to learn, and will keep researching AA. But nothing I've found will send a weather map or fuel prices to the display. This shouldn't be necessary. They disabled a great system that works everywhere and replaced it something that works almost nowhere. I'm mystified at the disservice. At least give folks a choice!

Thanks for the link. Yes, we still get SXM All Access programing. And 2020s got Travel Link Service. But Genesis dropped Travel Link in 2021. I'm sure it was not SXM decision since they make $$ from the service. If Genesis didn't want to pay for the free trial, OK, but don't lock out folks who want it.

They might be out of touch with what people actually want to use and rather take a more corporate friendly approach.
I think you should start a poll on this forum asking who wants it. Genesis might just pay attention to it!

Car is tight. 240 lbs and feel squeezed in driver seat. Ok for short trips but a long drive would be another matter

I hope this isn't the beginning of reasons to avoid the first year model GV80.
How do you like the seat functions and controls?... these are usually harder for an automaker to mess up.

Any other not so great things you've discovered?

I ordered this last Jan and still haven’t taken delivery. Not sure I can deal with this tightness on longer drives. Mixed feelings. Dealer not pushing me yet.
Have you tried try tracking down a GV80 demo that you can test drive?

This thread should also help:
