After exhaustive research and test driving several different cars, I. have decided not to buy the 2022 GV70 2.5 with Sport Prestige package. Why? Because for that amount of money -- and I still believe it is a good value and that you get a lot for it -- the trim level I want and can afford doesn't have three things I am looking for: wireless Android Auto, heads-up display, and heated rear seats. These, unfortunately, are deal-breakers for me. The only way to get those options is to go with the 3.5T and I cannot afford that. But the 2022 VW Golf R that I have on order, has all those things (not to mention higher horsepower) and, quite frankly, is just more fun to drive. But I think Genesis is on its way to stardom---a great company with great cars.

I'm scratching my head, lol, you are comparing a entry level car to a luxury level vehicle. They are completely different. If you can't buy the genesis is understandable. Genesis is car of the year again. Warranty service included so many advantages. Babyben

The Golf R is hardly an entry level car. You might want to familiarize yourself with it.
The 2022 Volkswagen Golf R is a fun-to-drive luxury small car, but its interior isn't as opulent as those in many of its rivals, and operating the infotainment interface can be a chore.Dec 15, 2021

I don't know why they make the choices they make in each country. Here in Canada, the 2.5 Advanced Plus and Prestige both have a HUD and heated rear seats. That's what I ordered. I don't really care about wireless AA...and thought maybe the 2023 will have that option since it is requested so often...

it’s not the right comparison. You can’t compare features to features between a mainstream car and a luxury car. Manufacturers charges a premium for luxury level cars. Besides a small sedan/hatchback will always cost less than a bigger SuV.

Wait, the 2022 VW Golf R has more HP than a GV70 3.5T?? Last I checked had the VW rated at 315hp versus the GV70 at 375hp.

Golfs have always been a really fun car to drive, but owning one can get to be expensive, as any German car owner will attest. The interiors can't compare between the GV70 SP and the Golf R, but the price difference would indicate it's also not a fair comparison.
I just bought a Silver/Red 2.5 SP last night. I walked into the dealership intent on buying a GV60, but one look at the interior of the GV70 SP hooked me. I rationalized myself out of getting the EV and staying with the ICE car.

No car maker can match the interior of the GV70 SP at this price point right now. Incredible detail and thoughtfulness! No heated rear seats? Sure that's a "miss" but I can live with it since I won't be sitting back there myself. hahaha

enjoy your Golf R. They are super fun to drive cars!

I have trouble with the concept of cross shopping a GV70 with a Golf R. A luxury SUV vs a hot hatch. Both fantastic cars but each serving a completely different market segment. A GV 70 vs an SQ5 or X3 or XC60 yes, but not a Golf R.
I have just sold my C class AMG Benz and ordered a GV70. Are they comparable cars? Clearly not. In my case I decided a luxury SUV more suits my current needs than a high performance sedan. First define what you want in a car, having done that then compare the cars that fill the role you defined.
