There is so much advanced technology in this vehicle I was wondering if there will be periodic updates that they could upload remotely like Tesla? Or will it be a situation where you have to bring the vehicle to Genesis to manually get any updates to the firmware, if needed.

I believe you mean over-the-air updates (OTA)?

If so, the GV80 should have OTA. Other new Genesis models do like the new G90 and G80. Its covered for the first five years of ownership "Free 5-year connected Service / OTA update(Over-The-Air)"

That is great to hear. I haven't had any new vehicle in 8 years so I haven't looked into the current technology until now

FYI, OTA is becoming standard across the industry.

Even more affordable Ford and GM products are getting it.
