GV70 is a model that has declined to below average for reliability and no longer recommended by Consumer Reports. I love my 1 yr old GV70 but will probably trade it in year three. This was so disappointing to hear.

Yes we had both of ours serviced and tanks filled, we do NOT have them wash them as we have detailers who come to the house for that. Basically my GV80 comes out of the garage, detailed and then put right back in. We use her GV70 90% of the time. I’m 6’2” and 300lbs and she is 5’2” and we have plenty of space. :)

Oh yes sadly I’ve heard of several folks with dead battery situations. For our dealership their “ loaner “ vehicles are GV70 no matter what you own. Now that’s great for those who already have one, but for the G90 and GV80 folks that doesn’t help us in the least. Makes me not to want to even deal with service…

Woah for the gent who’s GV70 has been at the Charleston dealership for over two months. That’s to me is unacceptable that no one has been in contact with you at all. I knew going in service would be far from great, but it is the vehicle my wife wanted so I bit. It’s frustrating but at the very least you are one of the fortunate ones who has a loaner. On my one forum the gent has been renting a car for (2) months out of pocket with no eta parts wise in sight. Time for you to get midEVIL on them and start contacting news agencies.

I do have a nice loaner from the dealer (GV80). BUT.........in my last communication with the concierge, she indicated the battery in the GV70 was dead and had to be replaced. THe dealership said the battery is on back order??? Corporate said she could get a not Genesis replacement of the right size and voltage. She said they are also on back order!!!!! Back to the drawing boards......

Today, January 2nd marks two months and one day that my 2022 GV70, 3.5TT has been in the shop at Genesis of North Charleston! With 20 K on the odometer on October 30th, several icons lit up on the dash. I pressed the concierge button and to my dismay was told that my car is experiencing low fuel pressure from the fuel pump. The lights on the dash indicated other problems. I called the dealer (which is 92 miles from my home) and drove the car on Nov. 1st to the dealer. I received a loaner (GV70) which was not a great fit since I have a bad back. Theye switched the car after two weeks to a GV80. I have been driving the GV80 for six weeks. My calls to the dealer, emails to the dealer have gone unanswered at this point. Earlier on they would call and tell me they are waiting for parts. Eight weeks and it is still not fixed. One of the replacement parts (as I was told) failed!!!!! My wife and I have emails and calls out to the head of Genesis...many of which never responded or was the wrong emails. We are frustrated at this point. I have requested they buyback the vehicle!!! I'll keep the Forum posted as to the outcome of this debacle.

Our 2024 GV70 has a dead battery at 6500 mi. In New Orleans area & dealership service dept overwhelmed. At least they provided a loaner until they can deal w/the problem. Incredibly frustrating to have a dead battery at only 6 mos of ownership! Longtime Mercedes customer here & ready to trade it in!

I just saw the reviews. The GV70 was rated right up next to Toyota and Honda...I thought it looked lime a great rating. Toyota just recalled a boat load of cars, yester day Honda?Acura did, and the list is endless. The fact is, todays cars are overly complicated and problems will happen. We Are in 6 months on out '23 GV70 and it has been terrific. So far I have not been thrilled about the dealership service dept., but that that seem to be a common theme.

CR is very accurate. I have filled out their survey forms. Over 300,000 cars are reviewed. The reality is that the GV70 has recurring problems with the fuel pump as well as issues with the limited slip differential.
I just read the review for the GV70 and clearly the 2023 has fewer problems than the 2022. The 2023 drive system reliability, which includes the LSD, was rated 3 out of 5 as was the electronics. Body hardware, climate system, and paint and trim were rated 4 out of 5. Twelve of the reliability headings (e.g. engine) were rated 5 out of 5.
Unfortunately the 2022 GV70 is problematic. It had the worst rated reliability of 12 similar SUVS. The powertrain had the worst rating (1 out of 5) and the climate system and build quality were mediocre.
It remains to be seen if the 2023 sustains its better reliability rating.

Just had my 15k mile service…no issues this far. It did take 2 weeks to get an appointment, but everything else is good. In 2004, I had a first level G3 edition Acura TL…the Acura forum page was blistering with issues back then…so, yes, I think every model has foibles. And…are we still taking CR’s opinions as valid???
