I'm okay with the fix-a-flat, just in case I'm in the middle of nowhere. Otherwise there's Roadside Assistance available on the App, and I have AAA.

What I worry about is that the tire can not be filled or repaired, and now you have to get towed to a tire store and buy a new tire. That's ok if your around town, but not on the road. And if you got the tire insurance, I am guessing you just can't buy a tire and get reimbursed. You would have to go somewhere. I purchased an Acura without a spare, and the first thing I did was buy one.
That being said, the last time I got a flat that could not be fixed and had to put on a spare was 10 years ago and that was a rental car. And before that, maybe 30 years ago. So I guess there is not much to sweat.

Hey everyone driving a GV80 Prestige trim in beautifiul NC seem to have had a problem that I am hearing quite a few owners are experiencing. Rear Differential issues, actually had to get mine replaced as have many others.. Have read on other forums that a lot of folks are going thru this. Humming noise when you press gas on or off low speeds, problem is how they are handling parts. Had my car in shop for 3 weeks! Don't leave your GV80 with dealer until they tell you they have parts in hands! Korea to CA ship time on parts was pretty quick about a week . Once in CA warehouse that's where the problem got worse. CA has a standard way to ship parts to East coast instead of shipping 2-3 days like a German brand would do on a new model they put the parts on a truck that took 8 days to get to dealer. Not the way to build a brand ! With all that said I still think the vehicle is outstanding and I absolutely love it! It's the internal process of Genesis that has some kinks. Hope they can get there act together Genesis cars are really well designed.
Hi JCGV80,
I saw your post dating back to SEP 29, 2021 regarding the replacement of your differential. I believe I have the same issue with my 2021 GV80 3.5T Prestige. I'm looking to speak with another 2021 GV80 owner about their experience with this issue. As a new member, I am unable to send you a private message. Would you be willing to have a phone conversation?
Thanks,

She means Eco in the drive setting (Small knob by center arm rest.). "Dramatic" is way too strong, but you will see a bit better mileage. :)

(EcoBoost is a Ford/Lincoln engine nomenclature)
Ok, just standard ECO mode...i heard ecoboost and immediately thought Ford! I don't get that much better mileage either between the different modes

Fuel economy is so bad!!!! Other than that, pretty enjoy it so far.

I just purchased my GV80 a few days ago and was getting 12 - 13.7 MPG and was not happy!! I called the service dept at the dealership and they said to put in eco mode. I thought this was nothing but BS but after doing this, my MPG went up and is now fluctuating between 18 and 20 MPG, which is a 30% plus increase and is pretty dramatic to me. Even the service guy was surprised. To change this, go into settings, select vehicle, then drive mode and then custom. Change to ECO in powertrain (I also changed it in AWD mode). I've only driven about 50 miles in eco mode and tomorrow filling up tank to get an exact MPG. Good luck!

one more thing.....I have a 2023 2.5T Prestige. Prior to changing to eco it was in comfort mode.

think that’s the best move. As someone wrote on an earlier post on this thread.. Genesis brand is seemingly just an overpriced Hyundai-too many quality issues for my taste. Had I known prior would not have purchased this vehicle. Main reason I did was other luxury brands at least in my neck of the woods were tacking on a surcharge to MSRP and I was able get the GV80 at MSRP from local dealer. It’s a beautiful SUV but too many quality/production issues for my taste. If I could I would return it.
Totally agree. I may not run into issues anytime soon as I drove much less now in this somewhat post Covid world. If I could I would return it as well. Had same scenario where I was with another luxury brand, was getting a new vehicle with same and hit me with a surcharge and I was able to what my GV80 Prestige at MSRP. This brand has too many quality issues for my liking.

WOW, Lot's of unhappy folks, I'd say there are many vehicles Lux type that borrow from their lower branded cars, it's the nature of the beast. VW-Audi-Bently use the same basic chassis that VW uses for their bigger SUV, the way it is now and has been for some time. We've owned many cars over the years, Fords, Toyota's, BMW's, GMC's, Porsche's, Acura (1 was enough), and so on. We've done the Lemon law here in NH on several occasions, I highly suggest anyone dealing with a car issue that waylays their auto for any extended period of time to use the processs, it's free and holds the manufacturer accountable, never accept a deal from the manufacturer unless it's 100 percent in your favor. So, on that note we just picked up a GV80, she fell in love with the car several months back, it was not my first choice (BMW X5) but it's her car and one of those Porcshes sits in my garage, so fair is fair. I will state that after driving it for some decent miles, it is a truly exceptional car offering up a platter full of techonolgy, great ride, and very good looking as well. As far as SUV's go barring any issues, this may be one of the nicest SUV's we've owned to date, barring issues. This is a new brand more or less, call it teething problems, I would expect some minor annoyances, and hopefully the dealer solves any that may arise. Where we purchased they are in the process of building a High End dealership strictly for Genesis, this has been a struggles for Genesis/Hyundai, dealer cooperation appears indifferent, they want to treat them as expesive Hyundai's and Genesis is saying NO. This is a make or break deal for Genesis much like the issues Lexus went through many moons ago, I would most certaintly choose to do biz with a dealer who truly wants to represent the Genesis brand fully and treat buyers of their Lux brand like a typical Lux Brand should. Otherwise we'll post back along the way as we break in the car, get past the rather bad gas milage better in Eco as stated above. As well the process of our dealer building their new facility to house Genesis, which isn't in our city as that dealer said NO to a building, but works out well as the new dealer location is closer and may put a big dent in the local dealer. Otherwise hold the manufactuer accountable and use the Laws that protect consumers from faulty products, in this case an expensive car.

wow! you're the first i've read that was taken care of properly under the lemon law! I've read some egregious service issues esp in 1st model year 2021 GV80 that should have had car replace having in service more than use after purchase. I have oppt for Prestige Signature (Apr 2022) but i'm scared to death of service and problems vs a Lexus.
did you get a white or black signature series ? Any problems ?

We got the what's called the prestige 20 series, which has 20" wheels vs 22" in Black. So far no problems but it's new new as of last Friday, the dealer we bought from is very enthusiastic about the Genesis line which is a plus.
I have the white ( Matterhorn) matte finish with 22” rims . Just hit 12k miles and have had issues with heater blowing cold air on passenger side when stopped at a light etc . As soon as I Step on gas , air returns to warm air and horn stopped working .. beautiful car but always seems like we are dealing with an issue

it’s called a prestige signature series. 300 black ones and 300 white ones were made.

Yea, got the Prestige 20 series, there were not any signature series available when looking, they had both a Prestige 20 and 22, couldn't jusitfy the almost 4K for 22" wheels. Can't explain the cold air, other than looking to see if the temp setting is changing on the passenger side as you know the system is dual zones?
