I have a 40a installed and it works just fine, 9kWh vs 11kWh with a 48a. Basically, every hour I get 2 kWh less charge than with a 48a. IMO not a huge deal especially when you're charging over night or for 5+ hours in a session.

Take a look at Wallbox as well, they make a great product, and it's much more compact than everything else out there. I had a Bosch, Chargepoint, and Juicebox before and I prefer my Wallbox.

Awesome, Thank you!
After seeing this in the owners manual I am determined to get a Level 2: "Battery performance and durability can deteriorate if the DC charger is used constantly. Use of DC charge should be minimized in order to help prolong high voltage battery life. It is best to have a mix of AC and DC charging of your battery over time."

My buddy just installed this for his Ioniq 5 that matches for the GV60

I have been researching chargers for a couple of weeks. At first I was planning to purchase either Juicebox or Chargepoint, but then changed my mind. All programs for rebates in my state are filled to capacity, so I see no reason to limit my search to only qualifying models. I am now seriously considering Wallbox. I like the size of it and the app appears to be simple with useful metrics. At this point I am trying to decide between the 40 or 48. I prefer 40 so it can be plugged in...in case there are issues and I need to get a replacement. But...the 48 can charge faster. How does the difference you stated in KW translate to Miles per hour of charge? Why do you prefer Wallbox to Juicebox and Chargepoint?

Thank you!

The difference between a 40a (9kWh) and 48a EVSE (11kWh) is 2kWh per hour difference. So, I guess between 2-10 miles per hour? Depends on your average efficiency. If you get 3 mi/kWh then it would be 6. If you are charging overnight, it won't really matter, 8 hours would fill the battery from pretty much dead with either EVSE.

One thing I didn't like about the Chargepoint was the docking mechanism. Otherwise they all worked fine, no issues. I prefer the Wallbox due to the size and how it looks. I rarely use the app at all, but it is definitely way better than the Chargepoint app.

I have the wallbox (48 amp, though I probably would have been fine with 40). However, in retrospect, I think I would have got the Grizzle. Cheaper, but works just as well. has less features, which turns out I didn't need anyway.

I'm on my 2nd IQ5 and my Genesis dealer has informed me that my new GV60 base is about to be delivered.
I'm quite pleased with the IQ5 and am having 2nd thoughts about trading up to the GV60.
The GV60 will cost an additional $15K with no tax rebate available and has less range.

What to do!

LOL
The difference in range is pretty insignificant. The IQ5 is about 5 inches longer and has a less slopey shape. I personally prefer the interior of the GV60 but that is a matter of taste. Unless you are being paid in full (so to speak) on the IQ5, you will be taking a hit on that as well.

If the decision was the IQ5 vs. the Performance GV60, and if performance is important to you, then I would go for the GV60. But you are talking about the base model. I wonder if it is worth the economic hit for the small benefit of the base GV60?

PS I love my GV60 but I have the Performance model.

How could you have been through 2 IQ5s in such a short time? Anyway, the above is somewhat right...it wouldn't seem very wise to trade up to the advanced, which is awfully nice, but does have the same motors etc as the Hyundai (provided you have the dual motor version)....the fully loaded IQ5 is a very nice car, and not world's apart from GV 60 (I preferred the GV60, though: one can see out the back of the Hyundai way better and it will hold more cargo (I think). If I were you, I'd wait at least until the 2024 models came out.

Yes...the view out the back on the GV60 is very narrow. I asked my buddy who has a BMW X4 (somewhat similarly shaped) if it has the same issue and he said yes. Fortunately, there are lots of cameras and sensors.

I wouldn’t buy any electric car at this time. We have a GV80 4 cylinder and just love it. No compromises to be made anyon this car. I can travel as far as I want and fill up anytime in minutes. Yes gas costs a lot more but you’re paying for the gas upfront on an EV. They are so overpriced. Might make sense if you keep it for 7-8 years but you will be tired of it in 4 years and want a new car. It’s old by then. My neighbor bought a KIA EV and has alot of planning to do if he goes outside the city. He was planning a 2 day drive to the east coast and was actually going to rent a car and pay the gas too because using his EV wasn’t making any sense. Buy a GV70 or GV80 if you want luxury and all the toys. Just pay the extra for the gas. It won’t cost you anymore in the end. EV’s are 15K and more over an ICE. I will buy one when the infrastructure is there and you can charge it up in 5 minutes
My motivation to go electricis is to unsupport the petrolium companies. Nest of evil theves.

Can anyone comment on the difference in the stereo between the GV60 Advanced and the Ioniq 5 Limited? I've seen some complaints on the Ioniq 5 forums that the stereo isn't great. We have an EV6 Wind+tech with the Meridian system and it is pretty disappointing.

Thanks, some interesting points on that thread. Unfortunately the Ioniq 5 put itself out of the running as it’s now a 10 month wait in the UK. As we’re struggling in my i3 with a 6 month old baby, we’re putting short delivery time high on the requirements. So we’re now down to GV60 vs XC40 vs Model Y as the only EVs in the UK on a 6 months or less lead time. I think I’ve already discounted the Model Y; as it’s a company car I have to keep it for 4 years and I’m not sure I could live with a Model Y for 4 years if I get one that rattles, or if I don’t get on with the central screen, or if one of the ‘unique features’ (software gremlins) annoys me. I also read it doesn’t have a great ride. The XC40 is intriguing, I like the fresh look of EVs and so being an ICE conversion the XC40 is a bit ‘meh’, but I’ve always liked the newer volvo XC designs. It doesn’t get mentioned in ‘best of’ EV reviews at all, but all of the reviews give it a very good rating for ride, comfort, safety, performance and infortainment (android automotive). It ticks the boxes of having 200+ mile range, higher ride height to Seeing as this is 4 months old and time was of the essence, might not matter to you, but I have a GV60 and this month turo'd a xc40 as we have two of those in gas...and it charged Sooooo slow compared to my GV60. For that reason i'd give it a pass!
